In relation toà taskà structure, it refers to a measure of clarity that a project or a defined task carries and the methods used toà achieveà the product. These allows progress to be tracked, this is because of theà presenceà of clear guideli nes as to how a task should be performed. Positional power, on the other hand, is a measure of the amount ofà authorityà that a leader has, ad its ability to influence theà productivityà of the workers. This is in reference to the ability that a leader when it comes to reward and punishment. Concerning contingency theory, there are several groupings of leaders and theirà outrightà performanceà situations based on the power andà influenceà they exert. The theory proposes that aà task-oriented leader stands a better chance at getting better performance due to its dynamic nature. Theà natureà is it can be used when there is too muchà controlà or too little control over workers. In addition, in positions where aà leaderà hasà moderateà power, the theory proposes thatà bestà performanceà is yieldedà forà relationship-oriented leaders. Transformational leadership Transformational leadership is a leadershipà styleà in which leaders and followersà elevateà each other to levels aboveà presentà level ofà morali ty. In order to account forà power,à influenceà andà leadershipà in transformational leadership, ità is basedà on four components. Influenceà is exertedà on followers or workers according to how admirably theà leaderà behaves. This, in turn, has anà influenceà on the followers on whether they would like to emulate them (Hoffman et al., 2011, p. 781). Leaders in this theoryà followà a set ofà clearà values that theyà demonstrateà in their actions. This allows theà leaderà to be a role model for their followers creating trust between leaders and followers.
